Our commitments to you

You're in safe hands

We understand that you may be going through a difficult time. We’ll give you one point of contact, an experienced lawyer that you can trust and build a relationship with.

At Rucklidges we keep you informed

We know it can be stressful waiting for information. We won’t keep you waiting unnecessarily, we will always let you know about progress on your case as soon as we do.

Helping you Understand the Legal Process

Legal matters can be complex, especially if it's the first time you've had to deal with them. We'll explain everything to you in simple terms and guide you through the process so that you know what's happening.

You're our priority

We don't overload our lawyers with too many clients, we keep our workload manageable so that we make sure we are available to you if you need us. If we are busy when you call, we'll always get back to you as soon as we can.

Meet the Team

Jill Rucklidge – Selby

I have over 20 years’ experience within family law and have dealt with the full breadth of family matters, having worked for the local authority and in private practice.

I’m not your usual stereotypical lawyer.  I set up on my own so that I could focus on giving my customers the levels of service they need during what is usually a stressful time in their life.  I don’t confuse my clients with legal jargon, I make sure that they understand exactly what things mean so that they feel empowered to move forward.  I make sure that I fully understand each client’s unique issues so that I can effectively represent them.

I’m a member of the organisation ‘Resolution’. This is a group of family lawyers and other professionals committed to the constructive approach to family disputes. Effectively, I encourage solutions that consider the needs of the whole family and the best interests of any children.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family; my three boys certainly keep me busy! I take them to rugby, football or stunt parks, and we love to visit Brimham Rocks in North Yorkshire – where they give me heart failure as they jump across gullies 20 feet in height and scale rocks that would take their lives should they slip (we enjoy such relaxing days out)!

I also like to upcycle second-hand furniture I find at vintage fairs and charity shops. I can often be found petting our bearded dragon (green lizard).

Angela Lally – Sheffield

I have been qualified as a solicitor since 2002, specialising in all areas of family law. For the last 10 years I have focused my practice on matrimonial finances, which has enabled me to build a niche case load.

I am based in South Yorkshire but have clients nationwide, and in particular clients in London and the South who want expert advice but with more cost-effective fees. I was a Partner at a firm and have experience the running of and expansion of a matrimonial department with particular emphasis on fixed fees and non-nonsense straight talking advice. I am now working as a consultant so I can tailor my work to take on the cases I can particularly add value to.

Outside of work – I have 3 children and passion for running!

Lorna Pratt – York

I am a Chartered Legal Executive with over 15 years’ experience in all aspects of family law. My specialisms are divorce and separation, children issues, financial matters within divorce and upon separation, cohabitation agreements and pre/post nuptial agreements.

I am committed to adopting a constructive non-confrontational approach to family law.  I strive to support my clients through what is a very difficult and stressful time in their lives by providing practical straight forward advice in a cost-effective manner.

Having worked for many years in traditional high street law firms I am delighted to have joined Rucklidge Law Limited and work alongside such dedicated and professional lawyers, all of whom share my ethos of placing our clients at the heart of everything we do.  Working as a Consultant means I can now dedicate my time and effort in supporting my clients and providing them with the best possible service rather than my work being driven by commercial targets.

Away from the office I love spending time with my family, supporting our local football team, York City FC and travel. I have been lucky enough to visit many beautiful places in the world but I am still awestruck by the Yorkshire Dales.
