If you have started your divorce, are thinking about it or don’t know what to do, please contact us and we can help you.
Divorce can be one of the most stressful times of your life, and we’re here to help. Our team of family solicitors are here to find the best solution for your specific situation. We’ll always put you and your family’s priorities first.

We understand that going through a divorce can feel overwhelming and uncertain. Our aim is to guide you through the process as clearly and simply as possible so you always know where you stand.
We appreciate that the end of a relationship can be one of the hardest moments in your life. It can affect not just you and your partner, but your children and wider family too. Most people want a fair outcome and hope to avoid conflict, especially when children are involved. Whatever has brought you here, we will support you with a sensitive, step-by-step approach and clear, realistic advice.
We will need to meet with you to discuss your case so we can obtain key information and to agree on the next steps. This will take around an hour. We will ask you for your marriage certificate and the Court fee of £612.
When we have the correct information and you are ready, we will start your divorce on the online government portal. A reference number will be allocated to your case, and an email and letter will be sent to your spouse. They have 14 days to respond. After they do, your case will be placed in a 20-week holding period. After this time has passed, we will be notified that you may apply for a Condition Order, which confirms you are entitled to a divorce. However, you must then wait a further six weeks and one day before you will be able to apply for your Final Order, which is the Order that formally ends your marriage.
Throughout the process, we will keep you updated every step of the way. We will advise of key facts which relate to your individual circumstances throughout the process. In many cases, it is crucial to stop at the Conditional Order and wait until the financial arrangements are settled before applying to finalise the divorce.
